Melvin Riddle, 62, of Russell Springs, KY passed away surrounded by family and friends, on Friday, June 23, 2023 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset. Born August 1, 1960 in Burkesville, KY, he was a son of the late John L. and Irene Hovis Riddle.
Melvin had a long career in the building and construction industry and was co-owner of Lake Cumberland Glass. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Melvin was an avid golfer and long-time member of the Lakewood Country Club. As a big fan of UK Basketball, if the Cats were playing, he would be watching them on television. Above all else, Melvin’s favorite pastime was being “Poppie” to his five grandsons.

5 grandchildren: Grifffin McClain, Caden Grider, Carter Grider, Blake Grider, and Bryce Grider
Mother-in-law: Janice Popplewell of Russell Springs
Sister-in-law: Amy (Kenny) Ballinger of Waddy
2 nieces; 2 nephews; 3 great-nieces, 2 great-nephews, a host of cousins & many special friends
Special family members: Vince Wilson and Ricky & Kelly Roy of Russell Springs (who were always there to lend a hand in a time of need)
