Juanita Alcorn Flanagan, 93, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023 at her home. She was born April 12, 1930 in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of the late Sollie and Lula Hundley Alcorn.
Juanita graduated from Lafayette High School in Lexington and went on to earn her business degree from Danville Business College. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband and Korean War Veteran, D. Dravo Flanagan. Together they owned and operated The Toddler’s Inn Day Care Center, one of the first in Russell Springs. Juanita was a member of the Russell County Democratic Party who attended the inauguration of John Kennedy and published her recollections of the historic event in the Times Journal and other societal columns. She had a talent and passion for gardening and canning the rewards, and was a gracious hostess who enjoyed cooking for family and friends.

4 grandchildren: Hunter Kennedy and Hayden Kennedy of Lexington, Caleb Flanagan of Baltimore, Maryland and Maggie Flanagan of Nashville, Tennessee
1 sister: Kathleen Alcorn of Wisconsin
Special niece: Missy (Billy) Floyd of Lexington
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewell Dravo Flanagan, who passed away April 7, 1991 and by her nine brothers and sisters.
