Robin Minton, 61, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center in Somerset. She was born on August 25, 1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the first of two daughters born to the late Merkel and Faye Smith Zimmerman.
After moving back to Russell County, the family started attending Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church where Robin became a member at a young age. Robin met Jeff Minton at South KY Separate Baptist Youth Camp and after more than 4 years of courtship, the two married July 18, 1981 at Bethlehem. Robin started working at First National Bank at age 17. After 44 years in bookkeeping, she was still an employee of the bank at the time of her passing.
Robin loved spending time with her family. She cherished family reunions and get-togethers; talking, singing, and laughing. She was a devout Christian and loved her church family with her whole heart. During basketball season you could always find Robin cheering on the University of Kentucky Wildcats. She fully supported and was so proud of her children, grandchild, nieces, and nephews in all of their various endeavors. She eventually talked Jeff into getting a cat, she found joy in the entertainment that Penny, her cat, provided. She has been blessed with the friendship of many great coworkers throughout her decades at First National Bank.
