Charles Hugh Austin, 94, of Jamestown, KY passed from this life on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Summit Manor Health & and Rehabilitation in Columbia, KY. He was born July 3, 1929 in Bryantsville, a son of the late Walter and Della Wilham Austin.
Mr. Austin was a retired Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force, serving his country over 21 years. He was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Hood Lodge #839 of Free and Accepted Masons, since 1974. Mr. Austin was a huge NASCAR fan and always enjoyed family reunions.

2 sons: Phillip (Veronica) Austin and Greg Austin, both of Russell Springs
4 daughters: Marilyn Stafford of Liberty, Dianna (Greg) Stapp of Russell Springs, Jo Ann (Bill) Braun of Red Bud, Illinois, and Charlene (Otis) Skaggs of Russell Springs
1 brother: Phillip (Danette) Austin of North Carolina
2 sisters: Alice (Thomas) Jefferies of Virginia and Carolyn Gier of Scottsville
11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, & 4 great-great-grandchildren

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Ruth Pfaff Austin; a son, Ronald Charles Austin; a son-in-law, Mark Stafford; 2 brothers: Gwen Austin and Royce Austin; 2 sisters: Wilmith Hall and Evelyn Rich; and a granddaughter, April Dawn Austin.
Funeral Service: Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 12:00pmCT at Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Wade officiating
Interment: Thomastown Cemetery with military honors conducted by the D.A.V. Chapter 51 Honor Guard.
Visitation: Friday, October 13, 2023 from 5:00pm-8:00pmCT and Saturday after 7:30amCT at Bernard Funeral Home
Masonic Rites will be conducted by Hood Lodge #839 F & AM at 7:00pmCT on Friday.
