Margie Kathleen Rice Breeding Coomer, 98, of Columbia, KY passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Summit Manor Nursing Home with her family by her side. She was born on December 8, 1924 in Adair County to the late George Moore Rice Sr. and Flora Eva Hovious Rice.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands: William B. Breeding and later Rev. John L. Coomer; a brother, George M. Rice Jr. & wife Christine; and four children: Donald, Kenneth and Harold Coomer and Margie Roach.
Mrs. Coomer was a dedicated member of Milltown Church and later Trinity Church. She was employed by Federal Crop Insurance and in earlier years served as a teacher in Adair County. She enjoyed singing, playing piano, reading, serving her church, and spending time with her family and friends.

4 grandchildren: Erin (Gerard), Willie (Klara), Melissa (Pete), and John David
3 great grandchildren Ernie, Caroline, and Thomas
4 nieces: Sue Coomer, Lou Anne Coomer, Janet Biggs, and Cherita McFarland & families
Nephew: Joey Caldwell & family
Several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, in-laws & other family members
Funeral Service: Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 11:00amCT at Trinity Church with Rev. Steve Pescosolido and Elijah Coffey officiating
Burial: Haven Hill Cemetery
Visitation: Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 4:00-8:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home and Thursday after 10:00amCT at Trinity Church
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gideon Bibles or Trinity Church and can be left at the funeral home.
