Lenvil McQueary, 81, of Jamestown, KY passed away on Friday December 29th at his home. Lenvil was born in Russell Springs, KY on January 25, 1936, a son of the late Ollie Mae (Simpson) and Willis Booge McQueary.

Funeral Service will be at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel on Tuesday January 2, 2018 at 1:00pm with Pastor Ralph Hadley officiating.

Bobbie Jo Coe Bolin, 58, of Jamestown, KY passed away on December 28, 2017 in Jamestown, KY.  She was born in Somerset, KY on September 19, 1958 a daughter of Dale Coe of Jamestown, KY and the late Sue Coe.

Mary Helen Doolin, age 77 of Russell Springs, KY died Saturday, December 30, 2017 at her home. She was born April 19, 1940 in Russell County to the late Jess Willard & Mary Sue Wilson Bowmer.

James "Jimmy" Coffey, age 75, of Lawrenceburg, a native of Green County departed this life on Sunday, December 31st at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
 
He is survived by 3 sons & 2 daughters-in-law: Robert & Kim Coffey of Lexington, John & Kim Coffey of Tennessee, and Mark Coffey of Lawrenceburg.

Bill Harvey Bryant, 57, of Edmonton KY passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Metcalfe Health Care in Edmonton.   He was the son of the late Harvey Lee and Betty Cahoe Bryant.   
He was a retired mechanic and of the Baptist faith.  
 
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Betty Yvonne Wilkerson, 2 grandchildren John Harvey & Joshua Allen Davis.

ELLIS BISHOP, 91, BURKESVILLE

 
Ellis Bishop, age 91 of Burkesville, KY passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Cumberland Valley Manor. Ellis was born on March 10, 1926 in the Scoville community of Owsley County, KY to the late Scott W. and Bertha Combs Bishop. 
 
Ellis was an Alumni of the University of Kentucky. He began working for the University in 1952. In 1958 he was appointed as the Cumberland County Extension Agent and served the county until his retirement in 1990. Ellis was a member and former deacon of Burkesville Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a longtime member of V.F.W. Post 5419. 
 
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, McHenry Bishop, Matthew Bishop, Langley Bishop, and Jesse Paul Bishop, and one sister, Jeanette Rose.

CLARENCE WAYNE PRICE, 47, GREENSBURG

 
Clarence Wayne Price, 47, of Greensburg, KY, son of the late Cornelius Wayne "Tracy" Price and Gladys Keltner Price, was born on Thursday, January 8, 1970 in Tampa, Florida, and departed this life on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville. 
 
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Trammel Creek Baptist Church. He was employed with Amazon.com Warehouse in Campbellsville as a troubleshooter.
 
He was a 12 year Veteran having served in the United States Navy, including the first Gulf War, as a Nuclear Engineer, and Aircraft Carrier Nimitz. 
 
Survived by his second set of parents: Russell and Carol Dial, and Dorval Price all of Greensburg; a sister: Cyndi Ford Keltner of Florida; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Travis and Martha Price of Campbellsville, and Rhett and Becky Price of Greensburg; step-brothers and step-sisters: David Dial of E. Bernstadt, Kentucky, Malinda Neal of Fourmile, Kentucky, Tammy Neal of Pineville, and Beverly Johnson of Arjay, Kentucky; and a host of other relatives and friends.
 
Mr. Price was also preceded in death by four brothers: Roger Ford, Lerman Price, Ricky Price and Todd Price.

Lucian Rodgers, 85, of Owensboro, KY, formerly of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Grover Rodgers, Sr. and Clara Shreve Rodgers, was born November 4, 1932 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 6:30 A.M., Friday, December 29, 2017 in Owensboro, KY.
 
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Palestine Baptist Church.
 
Lucian was a retired farmer, worked as Houchens Market Manager for fifteen years and also served on the Board of Directors for the Green River Feeder Cattle Association for eighteen years.
 
He united in marriage to Wanda Conner October 19, 1952 and she preceded him in death May 10, 1993.
 
He is survived by two sons: Bart Rodgers of Summersville and Tony Rodgers and wife, Ronda of Owensboro; four grandchildren: Blake Rodgers and wife, Cassie, of Nashville, Tennessee, Alec Rodgers and Chrissy Milby of Greensburg, David Rodgers and wife, Kristy, and Amy Rodgers of Owensboro; six great-grandchildren: Ethan Rodgers, Grayson Rodgers, Blaine Rodgers, Judson Rodgers, Callie Rodgers and Annalynn Rodgers; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
 
He was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters: Grover Rodgers, Jr., Maurice Rodgers, Alvin Wilkerson, Ralph Rodgers, Mayme Simpson and Aileen Richerson.

Nora Lee Minor, 90, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Tom Edelen and Maude Murray Edelen, was born September 27, 1927 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  She died at 7:10 A.M., Friday, December 29, 2017 in Campbellsville.
 
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Acton Baptist Church.  
 
Nora Lee was the retired owner and operator of Minor’s Jeans in Campbellsville for several years.
 
She united in marriage to Hanley Minor February 21, 1942 and he preceded her in death February 24, 1991.
 
She is survived by three daughters:  Maxine White and husband, Willie, Connie White and husband, Ronnie and Brenda Watson and husband, Doug of Campbellsville; two daughters-in-law: Della Minor and Kathy Gilpin; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother and four sisters:  Howard Edelen, Pearl Blevins, Barbara Powell, Joyce Davis of Campbellsville and Bernice Benningfield of Jefferson County; a sister-in-law, Louise Smothers of Mannsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
 
She was also preceded in death by two sons: Kenneth Minor May 9, 2011 and Paul Minor June 2, 1991 and one brother and two sisters: Wesley Edelen, Wilma Edelen and Lola Nell Hickey.

Dorathey E. “Dora” Mikel, 72, died Thursday at Summit Manor Health & Rehab in Columbia. Dora was born September 8, 1945.  She was preceded in death by parents, Ruby & Catherine Bryant Mikel and by a son, Bryant Greg Mikel.
 
Surviving are Dora’s grandsons, Allan Craig Mikel of New Albany, IN and Derek Christopher Mikel, as well as 2 great grandchildren, James Tiberius Mikel and Savanna Phoenix Mikel. One brother survives, Wayne Mikel.

MARK ANTHONY COX, 44, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
Mark Anthony Cox, 44, died Thursday, December 28, 2017 at his home in Campbellsville. Mark was born on April 8, 1973 in Greensburg, KY to the late Charles Samuel Cox, Jr. and Connie Fisher Bryant who survives.  He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Mannsville Christian Church.
 
Besides his mother, Mark is survived by his step-father, Keith Bryant of Campbellsville, a daughter and son, Brianne and Steven Cox both of Marion County. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Kylie Ann Simpson and a special aunt, Pauline Bright of Campbellsville.
 
The funeral service for Mark Anthony Cox will be Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Dotson officiating.  
 
Interment will follow at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens with casket bearers being David Gilbert, Jason Fisher, Barry Bright, John Seaborne, Wayne Puryear and Sheridan Underwood.

Ronald Asberry, 57 of Dunnville, KY passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 12:34 PM at the Casey County Hospital in Liberty, KY after an illness. He was the son of the late; Estill and Dorothy Irene Taylor Asberry.
 
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Lula Asberry in 2017.

Marshall L. Bunch, 66, of the Chance Community in Adair County passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at 8:45 AM at Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, KY. He was born on May 21, 1951 in Somerset, KY, the son of the late Joseph Milton & Lilly Mae York Bunch. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Shawnda Tabor on October 31, 2017.
 
Marshall was a member of the Union Chapel Church and a dedicated Sunday school teacher for 41 years. He sang with the Spirit Quartet for several years. He was a retired lumber grader for Kentucky Tie and Lumber and J. Downey & Son Lumber. Marshall was a deputy jailer at Adair and Russell County Jails. He was also an avid horseman.

She was born in Santa Paula, California on Wednesday, March 8, 1950, the daughter of Marion, Jr. and Patty Jean (Brown) Wilson. She was of Christian faith, attended Marrowbone United Methodist Church, and was a Seamstress for Bob Evans Manufacturing and a Home Health Nursing Assistant
 
She was preceded in death by her mother, Patty Jean Wilson, two sons, Eric Scott, Jeffrey Scott, and her maternal grandmother, Edna Brown

Todd Anderson, 48, of Burkesville, KY passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.  He was born in Glasgow, KY on Thursday, February 20, 1969, the son of Kenny Davis and Virginia (Lewis) Riley. 
 
He was of Christian faith and a self-employed carpenter and masonry worker. 
 
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenny Davis, his brother, Mitchell Anderson, his sister, Melissa Anderson, and his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Evelyn Lewis.

LAWTON T. DAVIS, 86, GREEN CO.

 
Lawton T. Davis, Sr., 86, husband to Edith Ritchie Davis, passed away at Robley Rex V. A. Medical Center in Louisville, on Monday December 25, 2017.
 
He was born to the late Olen G. and Vallie (Kessler) Davis in Greensburg, KY on September 1, 1931. He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Sue Davis and two brothers, Luard and Billy Davis.
 
He was a truck driver for McLean Trucking, a member of Pleasure Ridge Church of God, and an Army veteran.
 
Besides his wife of 65 years, he is survived by children, Lawton Davis, Jr., Mike Davis, Mark Davis (Cheryl), Twila Cowles (Jimmy), Kim Bishop (Keith), eight grandchildren , five great-grandchildren along with siblings, Leon Davis, George Davis and sister Shelby Benningfield.
 
Funeral services will be held Friday at 12:30 at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be Thursday from 3-7 pm at the funeral home.

DOROTHY "DOT" ANN MIERS PATTON, 78, GREEN CO.

 
Dorothy “Dot” Ann Miers Patton was born June 4, 1939 in Kingston, Pennsylvania to the late James and Vivian Allen Miers. She departed this life Sunday, December 24, 2017 at her home in Green County, having attained the age of seventy-eight years, six months and twenty days.
 
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Liletown United Methodist Church. She was an accomplished organist and a retired school bus driver and teacher’s aide.
 
She is survived by her husband Carlton Patton, to whom she had been married for sixty years. She is also survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Byron and Christel Patton of Colora, Maryland and Miles and Melissa Patton of Wilmington, Delaware and one daughter and son-in-law: Amy and Richard Kerr of Edmonton, one sister: Linda Cavanaugh of Newark, Delaware, five grandchildren: Christopher, Paige and Alisha Patton, Cynthia and Tom Gemmill and Jessica and Adam Pippin and five great grandchildren: Richard Bolt II, Corine Irwin, Trent and Vivian Gemmill and Justine Pippin.
 
There was a Private Graveside service at the Liletown Cemetery with Rev. Lee Warf officiating. There was no public funeral or visitation. Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg was in charge of the arrangements.
 
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to the Liletown Cemetery. These can be made at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home.
 

DOROTHY L. KENNESON, 98, ELK HORN

 
Dorothy L. Kenneson, 98, formerly of Smethport, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday (Dec. 24, 2017), at her daughter’s home in Elk Horn, KY. 
 
Born Sept. 10, 1919, in Keating Township, PA, she was a daughter of John H. and Edna V. Gallup Taylor.  On February 14, 1936, in Allegany, NY, she married Paul E. Kenneson, who died Nov. 8, 2002. They were married 66 years. 
 
Dorothy had been employed with Corning Glass Works, Bradford, PA, for 5 years before her retirement. 
 
Mrs. Kenneson had attended the Coleville Christian Gospel Church, Colville, PA,  Dorothy and her husband had a memorable history in aviation.  She helped her husband build a Stits-Flut-r-Bug airplane, and helped him rebuild a 1940 Taylorcraft airplane. She also enjoyed crocheting.

CURTIS HUNTER BURTON, 20, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
Curtis Hunter Burton, age 20 of Campbellsville, KY, son of Tony Curtis Burton and Mandy Kay Porter, was born on April 15, 1997. He departed this life on Monday, December 25, 2017. 
 
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Christian faith. Hunter was a welder by trade, and had earned his certification from the Tulsa Welding School. His guitar was his passion, so while his big heart made people smile and laugh, he also had a unique ability to touch people through music.

Martha Caldwell, 88, of Columbia, KY, died Thursday, December 28, 2017 at her home.
 
She was born March 22,1929 in Adair County to the late Mont and Mattie Keltner Maupin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Caldwell on June 19, 1985, by her brother, James C. Maupin and two sisters, Libby Dohoney and Frances Pepper. She was a member of Columbia Christian Church and retired from the USDA.

Anna L. Walkup, 87, of Jamestown, KY passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY.
 
Anna was born in Jamestown, KY January 5, 1930 a daughter of the late Linnie Esther (Wooldridge) Holt and Adren Ray Lawless.
 
Anna was a retired payroll clerk from Fruit of the Loom and a member of the Jamestown United Methodist Church.

BRO. BOBBY V. CLARK, 74, BETHELRIDGE

 
Bro. Bobby V. Clark, age 74 of Bethelridge, KY departed this life on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.  
 
Born December 8, 1943 in Casey County, KY, he was a son of the late Stanley and Dean Randolph Clark. Bro. Bobby was an ordained Baptist minister for many years, pastoring churches in Casey and Pulaski Counties. Over his duration in the ministry, he pastored Mt. Zion, Chesterview, Grave Hill, New Testament and his current church, Valley Oak, which he was also an active member.  He also sang in the church quartet at Valley Oak Baptist Church. In former years, Bro. Bobby drove a school bus for Casey County School System.
 
Survivors include his beloved wife of fifty-two years, Lou Eva Jasper Clark of Bethelridge; four sons, Brian (Lisa) Clark of Science Hill, Scot (special friend, Melissa Taylor) Clark of Liberty, Bradley (Jamie) Clark of Bethelridge, and Daniel (Kim) Clark of Somerset; six grandchildren, Austin, Aubrey, Easton, Reece, Cody and Ryan; three brothers, Chester B. (Mary) Clark of Science Hill, Gene (Pat) Clark of Argyle, DeWayne (Teresa) Clark of Somerset; and two sisters, Lavene (Ronnie) Baker of Cincinnati, OH.; and Betty (Dester) Harness of Indianapolis, IN.
 
In addition to his parents, Bro. Bobby his preceded in death by one sister, Gloria Clark; and two brothers, Frankie Clark and an infant brother.
 
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Valley Oak Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Butt and Bro. Troy Merrick officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

LENA MAE BREWER MCDANIEL, 102, GREENSBURG

 
Lena Mae Brewer McDaniel, widow of the late Charles V. McDaniel, died Monday, December 25, 2017. She was born June 1,1915 in Beneja, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Rankin and Mary Elizabeth Brown Brewer. Preceding her in death was her husband of 68 years, Charles V. McDaniel, her parents, 5 brothers and 1 sister. She was a special aunt to Gail House, Jim McDaniel and Edd McDaniel.
 
Lena graduated from Sue Bennett College and later received her Bachelor of Science degree from Campbellsville College. She earned her Master of Arts from the University of Kentucky. She taught school in Laurel County and Green County, Kentucky. She retired from teaching in 1980 while living in Greensburg, Kentucky. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Greensburg. After the death of her husband, Charles, she moved to Laurel County to be with family where she attended London Community Church when she was able.
 
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday, December 30, 2017, in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Delmer Gross officiating. Lena will be buried beside her husband in the William McDaniel Cemetery at East Bernstadt, Kentucky. Visitation will be at 12 noon Saturday until the funeral hour .

Frances (Ford) “Frankee” Gabehart, age 65 of Campbellsville, KY, passed from this life on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at her home. Born in Lebanon to Mary M (Hill) Ford and the late Joseph L. Ford. She was the wife of Wilbur “Buddy” Gabehart, who preceded her in death in May 2017. Mrs. Gabehart professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. She had a heart of gold and always made sure the people she loved were cared for and happy.

Charlotte Faye Peterson Burton, age 79, died December 14, 2017. She was born on May 14, 1938, on Canaan Hollow Road in Erwin, TN as the youngest of eight children of Dove & Rettia Peterson. 
 
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Thelbert "Bert" Uion Burton. She was also preceded in death by 6 siblings.

Billy Smythe, age 82 of Louisville, KY (formerly of Columbia, KY) died Friday, December 22, 2017 at 6:50 P.M. in Louisville.
 
He was born April 29, 1935 in Adair County, KY to the late Leighton & Rachel Grissom Smythe.  He was married to Cassie Prentice Smythe, who preceded him in death in 1971, and later married Betty Vibbert Merideth Smythe who preceded him in death in 1990.  He was also preceded in death by 2 stepchildren: Dan Merideth & Gary Merideth.  Billy was raised in the Columbia Baptist Church, was a U.S. Navy Veteran and an electrician at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Hazel Mae Spurling Sullivan, age 89 of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late William Goebel Spurling and Mary Francis Tarter Spurling, was born April 23, 1928, in Jefferson County, KY. She died at 12:40 P.M., Saturday, December 23, 2017 in Campbellsville. 
 
She professed faith in Christ and attended Bible Baptist Tabernacle. 
 
She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after forty seven and a half years of dedication. After high school Hazel attended Campbellsville College and taught in the one room school at Knopps on Finley Ridge for two years.
 
She united in marriage to Murrell Sullivan May 16 1953 and he preceded her in death September 8, 1979.
 
She is survived by one daughter and one son: Connie Sue Sullivan Phillips and Murrell Dennis Sullivan; two sisters and two brothers: Mattie Jean Smothers, Margaret Ann Chappell, Charles Washington Spurling and Edwin Lee Spurling all of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
 
She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters: Jimmie Ray Spurling, Harold Glenn Spurling, William Goebel Spurling Jr., Opal Maxine Spurling and Geneva Mae Spurling in infancy and a special friend, Robert Meador.

Rev. Homer Stephens, 81, of Columbia, KY, died Friday, December 22, 2017 at 5:30 A.M. at Signature Healthcare at Summit Manor in Columbia. He was born February 2, 1936 in Russell County to the late George and Fairlee Hopper Stephens. He was married to Delpha Hughes Stephens for 56 years until her death August 18, 2013 and later married Brenda Garmon Stephens.
 
Rev. Stephens was in the ministry for 55 years. In 1967, he founded Calvary Temple Church in the Garlin community and served as Pastor for 49 years.

SUSIE GRANT, 89, a longtime resident of the Little Cake Community of Adair County, KY passed away Thursday, December 21, at 11:50 a.m. at the Signature Health Care Summit Manor in  Columbia, KY  after several weeks illness.  She was born November 12, 1928 in Muhlheim/Main, Germany the daughter of the late Willy Gustav Otto and Margarethe Maria Huther Pelz of Germany.
 
Mrs. Grant was a member of the Tabernacle Christian Church. She was a former Adair County Homemaker of the Year. She wrote The Ladies Corner newspaper article for many years.   Mrs. Grant was active and involved in numerous community organizations for many years
 
Mrs. Grant was preceded in death by her husband - Sidney Grant on February 17, 2006 and by one son Tommy Grant, a granddaughter Michelle Cole, a great grandson Cody Smith, a son-in- law Ron French, and a daughter-in-law Sharon Grant.

Pauline Moore Clark, age 96 of Liberty, KY passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Casey County Hospital. Born on August 6, 1921, in Casey County, KY, she was a daughter of the late Clarence V and Mattie Chestnut Moore. Pauline was a clerk. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Liberty. Ms. Pauline enjoyed reading and gardening. She was truly a loving mother and grandmother.
 
She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Garrett of Campbellsville; a son, Joe Moore Clark of Liberty; five grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

She professed faith in Christ at an early age and attended Campbellsville Baptist Church and Saloma Baptist Church.
 
Mary Margaret united in marriage to Thomas T. Tucker December 18, 1961 and he preceded her in death April 9, 2004.
 
She is survived by two daughters: Alice Carroll and Connie Tucker of Campbellsville; three granddaughters: Tommie Lynn Howard, Cristi Carol Howard and significant other, Kevin Bradley and Mary Gabrielle Tucker of Campbellsville; three great-granddaughters: Ashlee Michelle Long, Jazmine Carroll Howard and Alyssa McKinley Curry of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was a bulldozer builder for Harrison Steel in Indiana. Frankie was an avid rabbit and coon hunter. He also enjoyed horseback riding.

Creon Melson, 75, of the Cundiff community of Adair County, KY died Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 12:12 A.M. at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.
 
He was born April 20, 1942, in Adair County, to the late Russell and Lela Shearer Melson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons; Eric Russell Melson and Timothy Creon Melson.
 
Creon was owner of Melson Roofing for over 45 years, attended Melson Ridge Community Separate Baptist Church, a member of the Chamber of Commerce and a strong Republican.

Joseph M. Jones, age 88, was born June 13, 1929 in Garfield, KY to the late Veachel Andrew and Elizabeth Lambirth Jones. He departed this life Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
 
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a retired clergyman. He was also a funeral director and former co-owner of the Foster and Jones Funeral Home in Greensburg. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and a sister-in-law: Thomas Logan Jones, Emery and Ava Jones and Ruth Jones.
 
He is survived by his wife Peggy Moore Jones, one son and daughter-in-law: Byron and Lynn Linebaugh Jones and one daughter: Dana Jones, of Nashville, Tennessee, two sisters-in-law: Shelly Jones of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Helen Clark of Greensburg, two grandchildren: Andrew Reed Jones of Austin, Texas and Taylor Linebaugh Jones of Nashville, Tennessee, nephew: Thomas Emery Jones of Greensburg, niece: Ann Myra Drury of Texas and several other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

William H. Compton, 95, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Columbia and Campbellsville, died Friday, December 15, 2017 at 4:51 P.M. at the Carl M. Brashear Radcliff Veterans Center in Radcliff.
 
He was born August 20, 1922, in Weed, Kentucky, to the late Arlin and Creo Nell Roach Compton.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Burris Compton, three brothers; Herschel T., James Allen and Cecil Compton, two sisters; Ida Estelle Christensen and Leo Nell Bartley and a special nephew; Leon Moore. 
 
He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran, serving three years in the South Pacific during World War II, a mechanic, body man and a self-employed contractor.

Linda Kay Bronnbauer Comer, age 29 of Greensburg, KY, daughter of Lorri Lea Capps Bronnbauer of Greensburg, departed this life back on the 29th of November due to an automobile accident in Green County.
 
She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was of the Baptist faith, and was an Assembly Line Worker for Clarcor, Inc.

Ruby H. Waters, age 95 of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late William Cobb and Cordie Acree Cobb, was born November 21, 1922, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 9:15 P.M., Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in Greensburg.  
 
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Little Flock Baptist Church in Zoneton, Kentucky.
 
She was a retired employee of Sears, Roebuck & Company. After retirement, Ruby volunteered with the American Red Cross for twenty-five years, which she felt was her true calling. She never hesitated when she was called upon, even during the aftermath of the September 11th attacks and during the hurricanes in Florida. Ruby assisted many people who had been dislocated by these disasters by arranging for their shelter.
 
She united in marriage to Ernest L. Waters, Jr. November 7, 1947 and he preceded her in death December 7, 1983.
 
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Pattie Waters of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Chris Waters and wife, Crystal, Tonya Waters and Private Corey Waters and wife, Chelsea of Campbellsville and Amanda Cherry and husband, Brian of Nashville; four great-grandchildren: Aydan Waters, Atleigh Waters, Locklynn Waters and Knox Waters; two step-great-grandchildren: Brennan Potter and Masen Potter; one brother and one sister: Mary Nell White and husband, Daniel of Campbellsville and Shelly Cobb and wife, Maxine of Mt. Evelyn Shuffett Johnson, was born April 10, 1920 in Green County, Kentucky, the daughter of Rollin Marshall and Exie Hancock Shuffett. She entered eternal life Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 2:30 p.m.
 
During WWII, Evelyn was employed at the Louisville Medical Depot in the Post Engineer’s Office, and as office manager at Crane Distributing Co. from 1948-1999. She was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church for over 67 years, the Good News Sunday school class and the Jane Lampton Chapter of DAR.
 
Her hobbies included; Bible study, gardening, sewing, cooking, traveling, family genealogy and collecting everything. Her last collection was rocks from all 50 states and many foreign countries. Many friends and family helped with this collection, especially Beth.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Doris Nevin and Charlotte Robinson and a brother, Rollin Shuffett.
 
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Diane Johnson Houchin; granddaughter, Jennifer Ram (Ian); grandson, Dr. Timothy Houchin (Dr. Angela); five great-grandchildren, Guinevere and Evan Ram, Audrey, Oliver and Nigel Houchin; sister, Martha Jane Skillern of Greensburg, KY.; brother, Dr. Milton Shuffett of Campbellsville, KY; sister-in-law, Margaret Shuffett of Greensburg, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Jimmie Dale Bennett, age 74 of Columbia, KY died Thursday, December 14, 2017 1:06 PM as the result of an automobile accident that occurred on Russell Road in Columbia, KY. He was born on Feb. 25, 1943 in Adair County, a son of the late Frank & Lorena Coomer Bennett.
 
Jimmie was a member of Egypt Christian Church where he served as a Deacon and  member of the Men for Christ. He was retired from IMO Industries, had served his country in the United States Army & was an avid rabbit hunter.
 
He was preceded in death by one brother Lyndell Bennett & his late wife Opal, one sister Barbara J. Murrell  & her late husband Tommie Murrell.

She was born in the Kettle Community of Cumberland County, Kentucky on Thursday, September 30, 1937, the daughter of Howard and Ethel (Johnson) Davidson. She was a member of Burkesville Separate Baptist Church and a Seamstress for Komfort Koach.
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Riley. 
 
She is survived by her husband, Kyle Booher of Burkesville, KY, whom she wed December 10, 1955, her son, Mitchell (and Michelle) Booher of Burkesville, her sister, Alta Short of Burkesville, 3 grandchildren, Joseph Booher, Josh Booher, Peyton Booher, and 5 great-grandchildren, Kyligh, Wyatt, Eathan, Kinley, and Silas.

Born on September 7, 1947 to the late Pryor and Eller (McDonald) Atwood. Mr. Atwood had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He was a former stave mill worker and enjoyed living a quiet and simple life.

Bernice D. Wood, age 95 of Campbellsville, KY was born in Metcalfe County on October 30, 1922 to the late George Taylor and Carrie (Keltner) Finn. She departed this life on Monday, December 11, 2017 in Louisville.
 
She was a homemaker and wife to Granville Wood, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Wood had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Methodist faith. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Arvid, Glen and Eddie, and a sister, Virginia.

Leon Robert Shelby, Jr, age 93, the son of the late Leon R. Shelby, Sr and Elizabeth Parker Shelby, was born April 5, 1924 in Owasso, Michigan, and departed this life on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in Campbellsville at his home. He was retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. He was a Veteran, having served in the United States Army. He was an avid fisherman, loved to travel and photography.

Kathryn “Katy” Kiger, age 68 of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Harold Foley and Mary Cathrine (Anderson) Watson, was born on September 6, 1949 in Pulaski County and departed this world on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the Taylor Regional Hospital.
 
She professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. With a natural love for people, both friends and strangers, she found success as the owner of the Lucky Vista Motel. Mrs. Kiger was also a talented seamstress, and made beautiful wedding and prom dresses and elaborate Halloween costumes. She was an avid reader and had a wide range of knowledge that was only surpassed by her love for her children and grandchildren, both natural and chosen.

GLENN MIKEL HEDGESPETH, 66, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
Glenn Mikel Hedgespeth, age 66 of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late Hardin Hedgespeth and Evelyn Pearl Underwood Hedgespeth, was born June 22, 1951, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 10:54 P.M., Sunday, December 10, 2017 in Louisville.  
 
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Zion Separate Baptist Church.
 
Glenn was a semi-truck driver for more than forty years and had always loved driving trucks. Other favorite past times of his were going to the stockyards, watching his granddaughter, Madison play golf. He also enjoyed horses and watching MaKenzie show horses.
 
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Jaysen Taylor of Campbellsville; one granddaughter, Madison Kennedy Ferrie of Campbellsville; one step-granddaughter, MaKenzie Taylor of Elizabethtown; one sister, Janice Mann and husband, Ron of Campbellsville; one uncle, Odell Underwood of Hodgenville; one niece, Shelly Gribbins and husband, Michael and one nephew, Travis Sprowles and wife, Tera of Campbellsville; two great-nieces: Chloe Gribbins and Jada Pierce of Campbellsville and many other relatives and friends.
 
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Jo Hedgespeth August 4, 1971.

JAMES LEE "JIMMY" SHADOAN, 76, SCIENCE HILL

 
James Lee “Jimmy” Shadoan of the Beech Grove Community in Science Hill, KY passed away at the Jean Waddle Care Center at Hospice of Lake Cumberland in Somerset, KY on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, having attained the age of 76 years, 7 months and 28 days. 
 
He was born in the Beech Grove Community of Pulaski County, KY on Monday, April 14, 1941, the son of Joe Martin and Virginia Irene Hall Shadoan. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, a machinist, a fireman, a bus driver and a farmer. 
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine Ann Shadoan, his brothers, Mike Shadoan, Ronnie Shadoan, an infant sister, Ruby Shadoan, an infant brother, Joseph Glen Shadoan, and his brother-in-law, Rev. Bill Godbey.
 
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Mae Godbey Shadoan of Science Hill, KY whom he married on Friday, March 25, 1960, his children, Jeffery Lee Shadoan of Somerset, KY, Timothy Allen Shadoan of Vaught Ridge, KY, James Douglas “Doug” Shadoan (and Linda Landrum) of Beech Grove, KY, his siblings, Janet Godbey of Indiana, Marlene Sworden of Somerset, KY, six grandchildren, Toni, Samantha, Tiffany, Mark, Jessica, Sydney, five great-grandchildren, and his best friend, Bro. Wes Hargis.

Sella P. “Bertie” Brown,  age 93 of Stanford, KY (formally of Yosemite, KY) passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the Stanford Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Eubank, KY on June 28, 1924, a daughter of the late Harv Padgett and Ora Todd Weaver.
 
Bertie was the widow of Ernest Linville Brown and was a housewife.

Mildred Dean (Billie) Clark Bagby was born October 6, 1930 in Green County, KY to the late Carlos Beckham and Zelpha Whitlock Clark. She departed this life Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Avamere Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Colorado, having attained the age of eighty-seven years, two months and four days.
 
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rupert Ray Bagby April 16, 2008, two sisters: LeVert McCrary and Alberta Sargent, sisters-in-law: Florence Clark, Lassie Schmidt, Dimple Mosz and Maple Bagby and brothers-in-law: Ellis, James, Vernon, and J.R. Virginia Cain Walker, 73, passed away December 9, 2017 in Georgetown. She was born September 7, 1944 in Columbia, KY to the late Earl Dennis and Christine Goff Cain. 
 
She retired as a Coordinator of Scott County Middle Youth Service Center, was a member and former Secretary of First Christian Church Middlesboro Kentucky Disciples of Christ. Virginia attended Campbellsville College and was a graduate of the University of Kentucky. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi of Middlesboro. She was a former member of the Middlesboro Garden Club and the Middlesboro Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. 
 
She is survived by her daughters, Beth Walker Cox (Shawn Matthew Cox) of Great Falls, Virginia and Alice Walker Farley ( Donahue Kevin Farley) of Sadieville; grandchildren, Anna Catherine Cox, Matthew Phillip Cox, Caroline Elizabeth Farley, and Logan Weslee Farley.

C "CURLEY" GILES, 87, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
C. "Curley" Giles, age 87, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Clarance Giles and Elizabeth Richardson Giles, was born March 17, 1930 in Adair County, KY. He died at 12:15 P.M. on Saturday, December 9, 2017 in Campbellsville.    
 
He professed faith in Christ and was of the Church of God faith.
 
C. was a retired employee of Tennessee Gas Transmissions and a former employee of the City Maintenance Garage. In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball but nothing compared to playing croquet. J.C. was such a craftsman and perfectionists that he would hand make the wooden mallets and balls. He went on to become the Kentucky Croquet Association State Clay singles Champion on several occasions.
He united in marriage to Clodean Campbell July 9, 1947.
 
Besides his wife, Clodean Giles, he is survived by one daughter and two sons: Dianne Wood and husband, Jerry of Elkhorn, Gary Giles and wife, Jenny of Greensburg and Roger Giles of Lebanon; five grandchildren: Allison Warren and husband, Greg of Campbellsville, Gene Giles and wife, Jennifer of Goshen, Melissa Surratt and husband, Jeremy of Greensburg, Jordan Giles and companion, Ashtyn Gribbins and Jacob Giles and wife, Randi Jo of Lebanon; three great-grandchildren: Katie Grace Giles, Tyler Thompson and Izabella McKinney; one step-granddaughter, Emily Ray and husband, Dustin of Hodgenville; one step-great-grandson, Arai Ray; one sister, Patria Marion of Louisville; many nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

LEROY MARK YOKLEY, 86, ALABAMA (Formerly of Edmonton)

 
Leroy Mark Yokley died peacefully at his home on December 8, 2017 in Huntsville, Alabama at the age of 86.  
 
Leroy was born on October 18, 1931 in Smiths Grove, Kentucky to Finley Mark Yokley and Verdia Norman Yokley. After his mother’s death, infant Leroy became the foster son of his grandparents, James and Lillian Norman, of Glasgow.  Leroy graduated from Glasgow High School and afterwards served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. He later attended Tennessee Tech and David Lipscomb College on basketball scholarships.  In Glasgow, he met and married Mary Alice Bell in 1957. Over the next several years, the couple welcomed 3 sons into their home, and in due time, the family was blessed with the addition of their wives and children.
 
After moving back to Glasgow, Leroy began working for Nunn Auto Supply. In the early 70s he opened his own automotive supply store, Yokley Auto Parts. He loved sports and the competition of playing basketball and tennis into his 40s. His family remembers many one-on-one basketball games behind the house, spirited croquet matches, and softball games in the front yard. He had a great sense of humor was always ready to gently tease his daughters-in-law and grandchildren. He was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Christ, at both the Bellview and Pleasant Hill congregations.

Beulah Pyles, age 87, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Roy H. Clark and Mary Gribbins Clark, was born May 30, 1930, in Taylor County, KY. She died at 7:51 A.M., Saturday, December 9, 2017 in Campbellsville. 
 
She attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Campbellsville. She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after thirty nine years of dedicated service.
 
She is survived by two daughters: Jean Underwood and Linda Wade of Campbellsville; five grandchildren: Scott Underwood, Shawn Underwood, Lisa Lock and Darren Wade of Campbellsville and Jason Wade of Elizabethtown; six great-grandchildren; Scotty Underwood, Theresa Underwood. Samantha Underwood, Zachary Underwood, Harley Underwood and Kiely Underwood; one sister and two brothers: Laverne Sapp and Doug Clark of Campbellsville and Buford Clark and wife, Joan of Macon, Georgia; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
 
She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Leslie Clark, Gordon Clark and Gladys Franklin.

She was born September 3, 1920, in Cumberland County, to the late Judge J.W. and Bonnie Grider Wells.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Oscar Wells, two brothers; James & Lowell Wells, four sisters; Margery Murphy, Ruth Williams, Annie & Lottie Wells, three nephews; James Earl Murphy, Douglas Wells, Robert Wells Keeton and a special friend; Vernon Money.  She was a member of Burkesville First Christian Church and a homemaker.

Drama “LaVerne” McGinnis Davenport, age 85, of Liberty, KY passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017, at Liberty Care Center. 
 
Born on December 8, 1932, in Casey Co., KY, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Lyda McGinnis. LaVerne was a teacher. She was a member of: Athens Church of Christ, Liberty Church of Christ, Willow Oak Church of Christ, and Labascus Church of Christ. In the past, she enjoyed swimming, volleyball, and horseback riding. LaVerne was an excellent rook player and an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan. 
 
She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Davenport of Tarpon Springs, Florida, and Kimberly Davenport of Nashville, Tennessee; one son, Allen Davenport of Liberty; a grandson, Ryan Floyd of Liberty; and a great-grandson, Logan Dale Floyd of Liberty. Other survivors include a sister, Janie McGinnis of Scottsdale, Arizona; and two brothers, Roger McGinnis of Ripley, Ohio, and Mike McGinnis. 
 
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Murrell Davenport; two sisters, Laura McGinnis and Jan Moore; and three brothers, Les McGinnis, Jack McGinnis, and Ronnie McGinnis.
 
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12th, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. J.D. McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery.

Verdie was a Veteran of US Army serving in WWII and was a member of Eastside Praise Church of God in Louisville.

Born on December 22, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was a daughter of Elizabeth Shurte Moore and the late Edmund Moore. Sarah was a loving mother and grandmother. 
 
She is survived by her husband, Ron Haggard, whom she wed on April 25, 1981; two daughters, Amanda McHugh of Reading, Ohio, and Sarah Haggard of Fairfield Township, Ohio; a son, Joseph (Susan) Haggard of Harrison, Ohio; her mother, Elizabeth Shurte Moore of Cincinnati, Ohio; and four brothers, Steve (Debbie) Moore of Nashville, Tennessee, Phillip Moore of Reading, Ohio, Andrew (Jeanne) Moore of Milford, Ohio, and David (Cindy) Moore of Reading, Ohio. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Brittaney, Megan, Eli, Abby, Collin, Brayden, Sam, Brennen, Kai, and Lillian. 
 
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Moore.

BRIAN GORDON BALDWIN, 63, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 

Brian Gordon Baldwin, age 63, the son of Harold and Barbara Thompson Baldwin, was born March 17, 1954 in Campbellsville and departed this life on Friday, December 1, 2017 in Springfield.

 

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church and attended the South Campbellsville Baptist Church. He was a former insurance adjuster and worked in the coal mines along with his father.

 

Besides his parents, Harold and Barbara of Campbellsville, Brian is survived by two sons: Brian Brandon Baldwin and Jason Baldwin, both of Campbellsville; a sister: Cheryl Lynn Baldwin-Marr and husband H.W. of Cecilia; three grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

Mr. Baldwin was preceded in death by a brother: Robin Baldwin in 2015.

Dinah Isabelle Stephens Bowen, age 89, a resident of Metcalfe County Health Care in Edmonton, KY, formerly of Adair County passed away Thursday Dec. 7, 2017 at 1:07 PM at Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, KY.
 
She was born on Aug. 6, 1928 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Allen & Lou Ella Keen Stephens and was preceded in death by her husband William Allen Bowen on July 13, 1999, & two brothers: David Stephens & Glen Stephens.
 
She was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Campbellsville, KY and was retired from  Wal-Mart in Campbellsville, head of the fabric department.

Linda Jewell Humble, 73, of Russell Springs, KY died Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Liberty Care Center. She was born March 7, 1944 in Russell County to the late Osby & Mary Bernard McQueary.
 
Linda was a former employee of Russell Sportswear in Russell Springs.

EUGENE 'GENE' FAIR, 76

 
Eugene “Gene” Fair, 76, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at the Hampton Assisted Living Facility in Meadows Park, Texas. 
 
He was born September 24, 1941, in Casey County, KY to the late Virgil and Christeen Brown Fair. He was a graduate of Liberty High School, a U.S. Navy veteran, and a graduate of Campbellsville College. Gene worked for several companies such as, Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company and Snap on Tools. He owned his own company, Fast Forward, that manufactured specialty computers. He was an avid NASCAR fan and a personal friend of Tony Stewart.
 
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Carol Sue (Ron) Wilson. 
 
He is survived by his former wife, Linda Greer of Bardstown; their son, David (Julia) Fair of Richmond, Texas; and a grandson, Chase Fair. He is also survived by his brother, Roger Fair of Fairfield, Ohio; and a brother-in-law, Ron Wilson of Mainville, Ohio. 
 
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Nall of Owensboro, KY, officiating. A private burial will take place in Shady Grove Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at the funeral home.

Jackie Holt, age 74, of Dunnville, KY passed away on Monday December 4th, 2017 at the University of Kentucky. He was born in Dabney, KY on January 10th, 1943 a son of the late Leslie and Viola Stogsdill Holt.
 
Jackie was a retired general motors employee working in Norwood, OH, Ft. Wayne, IN and Sharonville, OH, was in the U.S. Army National Guard and attended Dunnville Christian Church.
 
Survivors include: His Spouse: Inice Mae Roy Price Holt, One Son: Brian and (Jennifer) Holt of Osceola, IN, One Daughter: Amy Holt of Lexington, One Step-Son: Craig and (Mary Beth) Price of Dunnville, One Step-Daughter: Regenia and (Gary) Grant of Russell Springs, Five Grandchildren: Makaila  and Paxton Holt, Lacey and (Derrick) Terry, Jenny and (Kevin) Frank and Tyler Grant, Two Great Grandchildren: Callie and Colin Terry and Three Sisters: Juanita Roberts, Hilda Hunter and Bertie Pitman all of Cincinnati, OH.

Huston Pendleton, age 77, of the Vester Community of Adair County, KY passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017 at 10:06 AM at his home. He was born on June 22, 1940 in Adair County, KY, the son of the late Finis Ray “Tootie”and Fannie Lea Curry Pendleton.
 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Faye Gilpin Pendleton on November 14, 2004 and one sister Vivian Joyce Pendleton in 1951.

John Conway Bledsoe, age 83, of Glensfork, KY passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at T. J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow, KY. He was born on Jan. 7, 1934 in Adair County, KY, the son of the late Norman & Jewell Antle Bledsoe. John attended the Glensfork Church of the Nazarene.
 
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Bledsoe and two brothers, Leon Bledsoe & Bill Bledsoe.

Eddie Hutchison, 78, of Columbia, KY died Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 9:23 A.M. at his home.
 
He was born May 14, 1939, in Adair County, to the late John W. and Fannie Brockman Hutchison.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters ; Billy & Bobby Hutchison, Christine Hutchison, Maxine McGruder, Ruby Wethington, Ruth Peterson, Virginia Sue Scott.  He was a member Egypt Christian Church and a farmer.

James Siegfreid Ursprung, 69, of Liberty, KY passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at his residence.
 
James was born September 6, 1948 in Louisville, to Albert James and Dorothy June Poynter Ursprung. He was united in marriage to Diana Lee Byrd on March 7, 1980 in Liberty. 
 
James was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, of Danville. He was a retired truck driver.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents.
 
James is survived by his wife, Diana, his children; Jaime Nicole Ursprung Stewart (Shad) of Richmond, Joshua Clinton Ursprung (Emily Mathews Ursprung) of Liberty; grandchildren, James T. Margie Parrott, age 84, of Campbellsville, KY was born September 25, 1933 in Wayne County, Kentucky. She died at 3:04 P.M., Friday, December 1, 2017 in Campbellsville. 
 
She united in marriage to Roy Lee Parrott Jr. and he preceded her in death in 1958.

Mary Esther Russell, age 70, of Campbellsville, KY was born in Biloxi, Mississippi on August 22, 1947, daughter of the late Stewart Roy and Elizabeth (Ewing) McVay. She was a former administrator of a nursing home until her retirement. She professed faith in Christ and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. As a young lady, she was very athletic, and in 1965 was named MVP of the World – Softball. Though she was fiercely independent, she had a big heart and loved cooking and caring for her family and friends.

NORMA ANN CISSELL, 80, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
Norma Ann Cissell, age 80, of Campbellsville, KY was born to the late Thomas “Ted” and Mary Cecilia (Newton) Clark in the Holy Cross community of Marion County on July 25, 1937.
 
She departed this life on Friday, December 1, 2017.
 
She professed faith in Christ and was of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Cissell retired from the Fruit of the Loom plant in Campbellsville after many years of dedicated service. She was the wife of William Charles “Charlie” Cissell, who preceded her in death on June 18, 2007. She had a big heart, living her life as a gift to others, and was a close and trusted friend to all that knew her.

A Funeral Service to honor the life of Mrs. Cissell will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 11:00amET at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 213 University Drive, Campbellsville, KY. Father Saju Vadakumpaden will be officiating. 
 
She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the church cemetery, and will be carried there by Shane Murley, Jermey Cissell, Christopher Wethington, Aaron Cissell, Kane Wilson, and Jordan Watkins. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.
 
The family will receive visitors at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY on Tuesday, December 5, from 4:00-8:00 PM  and on Wednesday morning until 10:30 AM.

Henry L. Cummings, 90, formerly of Burkesville, KY passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo, Ohio. He was born in Trenton, Texas on Thursday, April 21, 1927, the son of Alfred A. and Minnie A. (Norris) Cummings.
 
Mr. Cummings was a member of Rose of Sharon United Methodist Church, a U. S. Air Force Veteran, having attained the rank of Sergeant, and a Yard Conductor for Nickle Plate Railroad.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James, Jessie, Joel, and Bill Cummings, and his sister, Mable Cummings French.

Larry James Pendleton, 67, of Liberty, KY passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017, at Liberty Care Center. 
 
 
 
Born on February 4, 1950, in Casey County, KY, he was a son of the late Glen and Marie Lee Pendleton. Larry was a self-employed gate hauler for many years. He was of the Christian faith. Larry enjoyed Nascar, University of Kentucky sports, and the Cincinnati Reds. 
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four sisters, Janis, Ada, Patricia, and Sherry Pendleton; and two brothers, Gene and David Pendleton.

Danny G. Helm, age 71, of Columbia, KY passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at 7:39 P.M. at University of KY Chandler Hospital in Lexington, KY from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Friday Dec. 1, 2017 on Highway 80 East in Columbia, KY.
 
He was born on Oct. 19, 1946 in Russell County, KY.  He was the son of the late Carlos & Lorene Pierce Helm.
 
Danny was preceded in death one brother & 3 sisters:

JUSTIN RAY ATWOOD, 25, LIBERTY

 

Justin Ray Atwood, age 25, of Liberty, KY passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, in Liberty. 
 
Born on January 22, 1992, in Danville, KY, he was a son of Donald Ray Cochran and Melissa Sue Atwood White. Justin can be remembered by saying his favorite phrase, “I’m something like a big deal!”
 
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, William Carson Atwood; four sisters, Faith (Nathaniel) Crew, Kendra Cochran, Jerika Bell, and Hailey White, all of Liberty; three brothers, Christopher (Stacia) Atwood, Jackie Bell, and Jordan Ray Cochran, all of Liberty. He is also survived by both of his maternal great-grandmothers, Louise Atwood and Elizabeth Grider, both of Liberty; maternal grandmother, Brenda Atwood of Liberty; paternal great-grandmother, Doris Brown of Liberty; and his paternal grandmother, Joyce Brown Cochran of Liberty. Additional survivors include his step-father, Marcus White; six nieces and nephews; a special friend, Maggie Spears; and a close friend and cousin, Dallas Chadwell. 
 
Justin is predeceased by his maternal great-grandfathers, Harlis Grider and William Cochran; maternal grandfathers, Lonnie Atwood and Jim Wilson; paternal grandfather, Marvin Cochran; and an uncle, Rodney Cochran. 
 
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Crew officiating. Burial will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery.
 
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

LESTER S. GRIFFIN, 81 OF CASEY CO.

 

Lester Shelton Griffin, age 81, of the Rocky Ford Community of Casey County, KY passed away at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. on November 29, 2017. He was born on February 7, 1936.
 
Mr.Griffin was a retired state highway department worker, farmer, a former bus driver and magistrate of Casey County. He was a member of Slate Hill United Methodist Church.
 
He was the son of the late James and Abby Mullins Griffin. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Arlin, James, and Carlos Griffin. Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bernice Rose Snow Griffin; two sons, Ray and Nina Griffin of Waynesburg and Craig and Tracy Griffin of Rocky Ford; three grandchildren: Jordan Griffin of Waynesburg and Jacob Griffin and Chelsea Griffin of Rocky Ford; and one brother, Elbert Griffin of Hustonville.
 
Pallbearers: Jordan Griffin, Jacob Griffin, Clayton Griffin, Doug Beldon, Mike Crowe, and Shirley Richards. Honorary pallbearers are Chelsea Griffin, James Beeler, Danny Clarkston, and Larry Cochran.
