Gamaliel, KY (September 15, 2017) Kentucky State Police investigated a two vehicle injury collision on Gamaliel Road near the intersection of Sugar Grove Road today around 9:42 a.m.
Preliminary investigations indicate that 48 year-old Randall Stafford of La Fayette, TN was operating a 1987 Peterbuilt semi-truck traveling north on Gamaliel Road near the intersection of Sugar Grove Road, when he entered a curve causing the trailer to cross the centerline striking a 2002 Dodge pickup being operated by 20 year-old Austin Pruitt of Hardyville, KY. The vehicle traveled down the side of the trailer being pulled by Stafford before striking the rear tires causing the Pruitt vehicle to spin out of control, strike a guardrail and overturn.
Stafford was wearing his seat belt at the time of the collision. Pruitt and 19 year-old Heather Ford of Monticello, KY were not wearing their seat belt. Ford was transported to the Monroe County Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries by the Monroe County EMS.
