ACCIDENT ON BULL RUN ROAD CAUSES POWER OUTAGE; ONE FLOWN TO UofL

On Saturday, September 16th, at approximately 10:45pm, the Adair County Sheriffs Office responded to a single vehicle accident on Bull Run Road. The accident occurred when a 2015 Kia car, being operated by 18 year old James Tyler Watt of Boston, Ky., along with passenger 17-year-old Aaron Hall of Leitchfield, Ky., failed to negotiate a curve when passing Dwight Curry Road on Bull Run Road. The vehicle dropped off the shoulder, striking a tree and traveling up the tree then striking a utility pole. The vehicle came to rest on its top with power lines and a transformer on the vehicle.

Two ambulances from Adair County EMS responded and treated both patients on the scene and transported them to T.J. Health Columbia. James Tyler Watt was flown to University Of Louisville Hospital for injuries sustained. Aaron Hall was treated at T.J. Health Columbia. There was a power outage for several hours as crews from Taylor County RECC worked to restore power.

Deputy Brandon Hitch was the investigating officer. He was assisted by Deputy Joey Keith along with Columbia Police Department and Adair Search and Rescue.

BULL RUN ROAD IS NOW OPEN AFTER BEING CLOSED FOR SEVERAL HOURS DUE TO POWER LINES ACROSS THE ROADWAY!
