Information provided through the Russell County Sheriff’s Crime Tip-Line resulted in the seizure early this morning of a “clandestine meth lab” and the arrest of a Russell Springs man for his second offense of Manufacturing Methamphetamine.
A Search Warrant obtained by Det. Joey Hoover was executed at 2:00 a.m. on a building adjacent to a residence at 45 KY 1729, near the intersection of West KY 80 & Beckham Ridge Road. The search resulted in the discovery & seizure of numerous apparatus and components used to “cook meth” as recent as Thursday evening. Edward D. Douglas, 47, of Russell Springs was arrested and charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, 2nd offense, a Class A Felony. At the time of his arrest, Douglas was on parole after serving part of a 5 year sentence for a November 2015 conviction in Russell Circuit Court for Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st offense.
The raid was conducted by Det. Joey Hoover, Sgt. Mark Cromwell, Deputy Nathan Ginn & Deputy Lucas Justice of the Russell County Sheriff’s Department, Officer Bobby Pritchard of the Russell Springs Police Department, and KSP Troopers Billy Begley & Allen Shirley.
Douglas was processed and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.
