Pulaski County Sheriff Greg Speck reports that deputies were dispatched to a multiple vehicle injury accident, two miles
north on Highway 461 Friday morning.
Sergeant John Williams found three victims and three vehicles involved. Larry Murray, age 39 of Lexington, driving a 2006 Ford pickup truck, drifted over the centerline and sideswiped a 2016 Kenworth tractor trailer operated by Anthony Orr, age 41 of Monticello. The pickup truck then struck a 2012 Kia head on. The Kia was driven by Wilford Purcell, age 80 of Somerset.
Murray and his passenger, Shawn Conk of Lexington, were treated by Pulaski County EMS and airlifted from the scene by Air Methods to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for further treatment.
Purcell was pronounced dead at the scene by Pulaski County Coroner Clyde Strunk.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.
