Free disposal of electronics for Adair County residents will be held October 16-21, 2017 at the county road department located at 62 Service Drive in Columbia.
The week of October 16-21 will be electronic waste collection at the Adair County Recycling Center. While electronics are collected at other times at the recycling center, October 16-21 will have bins set up specifically to receive electronic waste. Through Eastern KY PRIDE, Adair County received grant funds dedicated to proper disposal of these electronic recyclables.
The items approved for collection include: laptop and desktop computers, LCD monitors, hard drives, modems, plug and play devices, printers, scanners, copiers, telephone equipment, fax machines, power backups and transformers, misc. office equipment, wires and cables, circuit boards, video game systems, DVD/CD/VCR players, miscellaneous home entertainment systems, small electronic household appliances, CRT monitors and CRT televisions (no white goods).
Bins will be set up for drop-off and assistance unloading will be available during regular Recycling Center hours.
