EARLY MORNING PURSUIT IN R.C. RESULTS IN ARREST OF DUNNVILLE WOMAN

A traffic-stop for cancelled registration plates turned into a vehicle pursuit early Thursday morning in Russell Springs.

Deputy Dustin Bunch pulled a 1991 Ford Ranger truck over on U.S. 127 at 1:52 a.m. and as he approached the vehicle, the driver accelerated the gas and took off. Deputy Bunch pursued the vehicle from U.S.127 onto Voils Road, then onto KY 619, then onto Kamden Drive where the vehicle pursuit ended when the truck crashed into a fence and trees. The driver then attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.

Shanda Marie Loy, 31, of Dunnville, was arrested on five active warrants and also charged with more than a dozen offenses relating to the pursuit including Operating on Suspended License, No Insurance, No Seat Belt, Disregarding Stop Sign, Fleeing & Evading Police, Resisting Arrest, Wanton Endangerment, Criminal Mischief, Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Loy was processed and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.

Deputy Bunch was assisted by RCSO Sgt. Mark Cromwell and RSPD Officers Jeremy West and Matt Parrish.
