A traffic-stop for an equipment violation turned into a DUI & drug trafficking arrest Thursday night.
Just before 7:30 p.m., Deputy Ethan Pike observed a 1989 Honda car pull onto U.S. 127 from West KY 76 with no tail-lights. Deputy Pike pulled the vehicle over moments later at the intersection of Damron Creek Road. The car was being operated by Ryan Sheen, 35, of Liberty.
The roadside investigation resulted in Sheen being arrested for DUI 3rd Offense, Driving on DUI Suspended License, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Meth), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon.
A passenger, 39 year old Rabecca Hobbs of Elkhorn, KY was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Both were processed and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.
