Four persons arrested on drug charges Sunday evening in northern Russell County.
Russell Co. Sheriff Clete McAninch & Deputies were conducting a traffic safety checkpoint on U.S. 127 near the intersection of KY 76 when a Dodge Ram truck attempted to avoid the checkpoint. The truck was stopped moments later in the parking lot of Lakeside Motors.
The driver and one passenger were wanted on drug-related warrants in Boyle, Bullitt and Jefferson counties.
K-9 Matt alerted to the odor of narcotics. A search of the truck resulted in the discovery of approximately 2 grams of “crystal meth”, a glass “smoking pipe” and a small quantity of marijuana.
The driver, Jerusha Fitzgerald, 43, of Eminence, KY, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance-Meth, Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Fitzgerald was also served with an indictment warrant from Boyle County charging her with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance-Meth in connection with her arrest in Danville on August 5th (2017).
The front seat passenger, Adam Morris, 50, of Louisville, KY was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance-Meth and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Morris was also served with warrants from Bullitt and Jefferson counties on various charges including Possession of Meth.
The rear seat passengers were also arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance-Meth and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. They are Mackenzie Fitzgerald Holloway, 18, of Eminence and Joshua Smither, 21, of Pleasureville, KY.
