Four Somerset residents died Sunday afternoon when the small Piper PA32 airplane carrying them crashed in southern Barren County near Glasgow.
According to the Barren County Coroner’s Office, Somerset attorney Scott Foster, Foster’s 15-year-old son, Noah, local dentist Dr. Kyle Stewart and Somerset Police chaplain Doug Whitaker were the four people who died due to injuries sustained in the crash. The four had reportedly been on a hunting trip and were en route to Lake Cumberland Regional Airport in Somerset when the plane went down at approx. 2:30pm Sunday in a field on a farm just off Capitol Hill Church Road near Bewleytown Road in Barren County. The site where the remainder of the plane came to rest is several hundred feet from the roadway behind a line of trees near a small creek.
Scott Foster, Stewart and Whitaker were pronounced dead at the scene. Noah Foster was pronounced dead later at a Bowling Green hospital.
The KSP and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating.
