Investigations by members of the Russell County Sheriff’s Department resulted in the arrest of six persons Wednesday for Trafficking in Methamphetamine and other charges.
At 3:00 p.m. Deputy Ethan Pike & Det. Joey Hoover conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 Buick on KY 80 in front of Russell Springs Manor. The roadside investigation included Deputy Pike deploying K-9 Maxo which alerted to the odor of illegal drugs emitting from the vehicle. A search of the car resulted in the discovery of approximately 6 grams of “crystal meth”, a set of digital scales and several syringes in the glove compartment. All four occupants were arrested and charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Meth) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Those charged included: Brian Stephens, 22; Derek Passmore, 30; Lakeisha Chrzan, 20; (Chrzan is pronounced Shawn) and Jonathan Leake, 32, all of Russell Springs.
At 7:40 p.m. a Search Warrant was executed at 2661 Blairs Schoolhouse Road resulting in the arrest of two persons, the discovery of a “one step meth lab” and the seizure of approximately 13 grams of Methamphetamine.
Tony Scott Scales and Dana Bell Kinnett, both 41, were arrested and charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Meth).
All persons charged were processed and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.
Officers participating in the investigations included Sheriff Clete McAninch, Deputy Ethan Pike, Deputy Nathan Ginn, Deputy Lucas Justice, Det. Joey Hoover and Sgt. Mark Cromwell of the Russell County Sheriff’s Department; Officer Chasity Shirley of the Russell Springs Police Department and KSP Trooper Billy Begley.
