TRUCK VS TRAIN ACCIDENT

According to Sheriff Greg Speck, deputies responded to a train vs. pickup truck accident at approximately 9:15 pm on Saturday, November 25, 2017.


Deputy Ricky Shirley arrived at the scene of the collision at Antioch Road and Railroad Drive in Tateville and found an unoccupied maroon 1997 Ford pickup truck involved in the crash.  The pickup truck was registered to Mickie T. Swilley of Holiness Church Road, Tateville, Kentucky.  No driver was located at the scene.  According to Ms. Swilley, her son, Kenneth W. Gill, age 36 of Tateville was the last known operator of the vehicle.


The train conductor advised Deputy Shirley that moments before the collision he observed a male subject exit the vehicle which was stationary on the tracts.  No indications of injuries were apparent at the scene and the driver could not be located.


The accident remains under investigation by Deputy Shirley of the Sheriff's Office.
