A 1-vehicle accident in Jamestown on Tuesday evening sent the driver to the hospital. Police say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
The accident occurred at 7:10pmCT on Hwy 92 (Boat Dock Road) across from Jamestown Elementary School. A 2006 Chevy passenger car being operated by 67-year-old Roger Jett of Jamestown, KY lost control and struck a utility pole, continued on and struck a tree. Jett was transported to Russell Co. Hospital by Russell Co. EMS for treatment of his injuries. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the accident, that remains under investigation by Officer Wesley of the Jamestown Police Dept.
Russell County EMS, Jamestown Fire Deptartment and the Russell Co. Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
