The Casey County Fiscal Court met in regular session Monday.
It was a brief meeting, lasting less than 15 minutes.
Jordan Hamilton addressed the court concerning Gateway Park. Hamilton has a niece with special needs and suggested they consider updating the park with a special needs area where all children could interact and play together. He presented the court with information and pictures of parks in other cities that have designated areas of all inclusive play equipment. Judge Randy Dial invited Hamilton to take another look at our city park. Dial said some new equipment had recently been installed in the form of an all inclusive seat on the swings, which provides back support, and that parents can be seated with the child. Judge Dial also also informed the court that some updates have been recently completed on the Community Center at Gateway Park. New windows have been installed, an area of siding replaced, and some paint work done.
With no further business, the meeting was adjorned.
The next scheduled meeting date falls on New Year's Day, so the next meeting of the Fiscal Court will be held on January 15, 2018.
