Columbia police responded to a 2-vehicle accident on the Public Square on Monday morning involving two vehicles and city property.
The collision occurred at 11:47amCT when 55-year-old Nancy King of Columbia, KY was operating a 1994 Cadillac on the Public Square, attempting to merge right to turn onto Jamestown Street. King stated that her auto had a mechanical failure resulting in her side-swiping a 2015 Dodge Ram operated by Melissa Burton of Columbia, KY then striking a brick bordered landscaped area on the corner of the Square.
Nancy King was taken to TJ Health Columbia where she was treated and released. Burton was not injured.
The collision is being investigated by CPD Officer Drew Conn.
