The May Primary Election is fast approaching (May 22, 2018) and here are some important items to help make your voting experience pleasant and smooth.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!
If you are unsure if you are registered or where to vote, go to www.elect.ky.gov, click on "Find my Polling Place", fill in the requested information, then click "submit". It will give you the precinct location and the capability to map your voter location. Of course you can always call your County Clerk’s Office for more information. In Russell Co. call 270-343-2125; in Adair Co. call 270-384-2801.
When you go to vote, be prepared to confirm your identity. Kentucky law requires the election officers to confirm (if not personally known) by the election officers. Please have one of the following forms of identity available when you are ready to sign the roster:

Drivers’ License (does not have to be a Kentucky issued DL)

Social Security Card
-
Credit Card
-
Other ID
-
Any ID card with picture and signature of voter

Any Kentucky state government-issued ID card; and

Any United States government-issued ID card
This Primary Election, ALL voters have the privilege of voting regardless of their party affiliation. There will be a Republican Ballot, a Democrat Ballot and a Nonpartisan Ballot. Each ballot is different depending on your party affiliation. An individual whose political party affiliation is that of a Democrat or Republican and who changed their political party affiliation after the December 31st deadline, IS NOT permitted to vote in the Democratic or Republican party primaries, but the individual will be permitted to vote in the Nonpartisan races only. An individual registered in other, Constitution Party, Green Party, Libertarian Party, Reform Party, Socialist Workers Party or Independent Status will also vote the Nonpartisan Ballot only.
