An investigation by members of the Russell County Sheriff’s Department resulted in the arrest of two individuals on Friday morning on drug trafficking and possession charges.
At approximately 10:45amCT, 36 year old Otis Ray Watt of Russell Springs was taken into custody by Sgt. Evan Burton in the parking lot of the Springs Motel and charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Watt was also served with a warrant for failing to appear in Adair District Court on March 26th to answer to charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance (meth) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
A short time later, 20-year-old Shantale M. Kimbler of Columbia, KY was arrested in the motel parking lot by Det. Joey Hoover & RSPD Asst. Chief Melissa Taylor and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (meth), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Giving Police Officer False Identifying Information and Resisting Arrest.
Watt and Kimbler were lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.
