Four persons were injured during a 2-vehicle collision just after 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening in the Royville community of Russell County.
R.C. Deputy Nathan Ginn’s investigation determined that a Nissan Xterra being driven by Pedro Nunez Cruz, 37, of Russell Springs, KY pulled from KY 1729 onto KY 80 and into the path of a westbound 1982 Winnebago motor home being driven by James Dill, 48, of Indiana, resulting in the vehicles colliding.
Cruz and his 8 year-old daughter were transported by Russell County EMS to the Russell County Hospital for treatment with Cruz later flown to the U.K. Medical Center.
Dill, and his wife Kasie, were treated at the scene but declined further treatment or transport to a medical facility.
Deputy Ginn was assisted at the scene by RSPD Officer Ethan Pike and members of the Russell Springs Fire Department.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the cause of the wreck. The investigation is ongoing.
