The Casey County Fiscal Court met in regular session Monday.
The Court went into executive session for about ten minutes to discuss the aquisition of real property. No action was taken.
Judge Executive, Randy Dial, requested a motion concerning the purchase of property for a new 911 communications tower.
The motion passed by unanimous vote.
The Court heard the 1st Reading of the proposed 2019 budget, which was approved by unanimous vote.
All four magistrates voted to keep their current salary rate "as-is".
County Coroner, Curt Demrow, requested the court increase his salary to $10,000. The motion passed by a vote of 3-1, with Magistrate, Robby Murphy voting no.
The County Attorney salary was also designated to stay the same.
The County received 4 bids for Salt, with the lowest from the Morton Salt Company in the amount of $89.50 per ton. That's up from $74 from last year. The Court voted to reserved 200 tons.
The Court received only one bid for the construction of the new 911 communications tower.
The bid was accepted by unanimous vote.
Under Miscellaneous Business, an Ag Center employee has suffered some health issues. Judge Dial recommended the court hire Larry Buis as an additional Part-Time employee at $10 an hour. The motion was approved by unanimous vote.
