On Monday, June 11, 2018, the Adair County Sheriff's Office responded to a single vehicle accident on Bill Turner Road. The vehicle was reported to have driven into a house. Upon arrival, law enforcement located a vehicle partially inside a home at 105 Bill Turner Road.
Preliminary investigation determined that 37-year-old Laramy Josh Conover of Columbia, KY was operating a 2005 Blue Chevy Colorado, pulling a single axle trailer, when his vehicle left the roadway. The vehicle and trailer grazed a utility pole that caused the trailer to break away from the truck. Conover's vehicle continued on and struck an out-building at 3009 Russell Springs Road (owned by Rebecca Grant) moving it from its foundation approximately 10 feet. Conover's vehicle then traveled into a home at 105 Bill Turner Road owned by Jody Perkins of Knifley, KY, moving it from its foundation approximately 3 feet. The collision caused significant damage to both structures.
Conover was transported by Adair County EMS to TJ Health Columbia for injuries sustained. Laramy Josh Conover was cited for Operating on a suspended Kentucky driver's license.
A medical emergency is believed to be a determining factor in the accident, but is still under investigation by The Adair County Sheriff's Office. The Adair County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Adair County EMS.
