THE CASEY COUNTY FISCAL COURT HELD THEIR SECOND REGULAR MEETING OF THE MONTH LAST NIGHT.
 
JUDGE EXECUTIVE RANDY DIAL CONDUCTED THE SECOND READING OF THE BUDGET ORDINANCE.
 
THE COURT VOTED TO GIVE A RAISE IN PAY TO AN AG-CENTER EMPLOYEE. GARNETT LEE IS AN 8 YEAR EMPLOYEE. THE COURT RAISED HIS WAGE UP TO $10 DOLLARS AN HOUR TO MEET COUNTY MINIMUM GUIDE LINES.
 
THE FISCAL COURT ALSO APPROVED AN UP-DATE TO THE COUNTY'S SOLID WASTE FIVE YEAR PLAN, AS REQUIRED BY THE LAKE CUMBERLAND AREA DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT.
 
TWO CHECKS WERE APPROVED FOR PAYMENT TO HAYES HVAC FOR INSTALLATION OF TWO HEAT & AIR UNITS. ONE FOR THE PORK PRODUCER'S BUILDING AT THE AG CENTER, AND ONE FOR THE SENIOR CENTER.
 
THE FISCAL COURT VOTED LAST NIGHT TO ENTER INTO A FRANCHISE AGREEMENT WITH DUO COUNTY TELECOM AS PART OF THE KENTUCKY WIRED PROJECT. THE TERM OF THE CONTRACT IS NOT TO EXCEED 20 YEARS.
 
THE COURT APPROVED A BID FOR HOT MIX ASPHALT FROM HINKLE CONTRACTING.
 
UNDER MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS, JUDGE DIAL RECOMMENDED THE COURT RE-APPOINT MITCHELL PHILLIPS TO THE PROPERTY ASSESSMENT BOARD, AS HIS TERM HAD EXPIRED. THE COURT APPROVED.
 
FOLLOWING REGULAR BUSINESS, COUNTY ATTORNEY, TOMMY WEDDLE, ADDRESSED THE COURT CONCERNING CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT. MR. WEDDLE SAID HIS OFFICE MAY, OR MAY NOT CONTINUE CHILD SUPPORT COLLECTIONS DUE TO SEVERAL STIPULATIONS SET DOWN BY THE STATE. HE SAYS THAT SO FAR, UNDER THE ADVICE OF THE COUNTY ATTORNEYS ASSOCIATION, HE HAS NOT YET SIGNED THE AGREEMENT. HE WENT ON TO ASSURE THE COURT THAT HE WOULD SEE TO IT THAT THE PEOPLE OF CASEY COUNTY WOULD CONTINUE TO RECEIVE THAT SERVICE, HOWEVER, IT MAY NOT BE FROM HIS OFFICE.
