Columbia Police have arrested an Adair County man following a residential break-in.
On Tuesday, July 10, 2018 Columbia Police responded to a residence on Keen Drive in the Green Hills Subdivision to a reported burglary. Upon arrival it was found that the back door of the home had been kicked in and items including, jewelry and a handgun, had been stolen. Officers were able to determine the incident happened between 2:30pm and 2:45pm. Officers were also able to get a description of the suspects clothing and facial description as he was seen running from the residence through the back yards of the subdivision.
Officers later obtained a picture of the suspects video surveillance. At approx. 11:15 p.m. that vehicle was located, parked at Elizabeth Drive on Green Hills Rd, Columbia, KY. A search of the residence was conducted, resulting in all stolen items (including a handgun) being located.
Jordan Perkins was taken into custody by Ofc. Charles Greer and Ofc Josh Brockman at 11:46 p.m. He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail on charges of Burglary 1st degree, Theft by Unlawful Taking over $500.00, and Criminal Mischief 2nd degree.
Officer Charles Greer was the arresting officer. He was assisted by Ofc Josh Brockman in the investigation.
