A long time resident of Russell County known as “The Can Man” is being treated at Russell County Hospital after being dog bitten.
Jerry Gentry, who has walked the streets for many years picking up cans, was seriously dog bitten on Saturday. Gentry was found by Jamestown Utilities worker Chris Back who observed a trail of blood and called 911.
There have been rumors circulating that Gentry was stabbed, shot or even run over by a car, but they are not true.... Gentry was attacked by a dog(s).
According to a post on Facebook by Detective Joey Hoover with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation is ongoing in efforts of determining who owns the dog(s) that bit Jerry and whether or not any violations of the law occurred with this happening.
