The Casey County Board of Education held a special called meeting last night.
Crystal Claycomb, founder and Executive Director of Kendyl & Friends, addressed the Board concerning the construction of an all-inclusive playground at Liberty Elementary School.
The board committed $100,000 and voted unanimously to move forward with that project.
The board also voted to move forward on a couple of construction/renovation projects concerning the sports facilities, concessions, restrooms, and visiting locker rooms. The firm of Sherman-Carter-Barnhart was awarded the project.
The 2018-19 school year will begin with a Professional Development Day, Aug. 6th, followed by a Staff Work Day, Aug. 7th, Opening Day for Staff, Aug. 8th, and First Day for Students on Thursday, Aug. 9th.
