A Somerset man was arrested on several drug charges after a traffic stop by Trooper Adam Childress of the Kentucky State Police Wednesday evening, August 22, 2018.

At approximately 6:30 pm Wednesday evening, Trooper Childress observed a blue Pontiac G6 traveling on the 914 Bypass in Somerset.  A check of the registration plate revealed that the owner of the vehicle was wanted on a Circuit Court Incitement Warrant for Trafficking in Methamphetamine.

Trooper Childress conducted a traffic stop and made contact with its driver, David J. Suiter, age 37 of Joe Lewis Road, Somerset, Kentucky.  During the course of his investigation, Trooper Childress contacted Deputy Tim Pierce of the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office for his assistance in conducting a "walk around" of the vehicle using his canine Leo.

The canine gave a positive alert for drugs within the automobile.  Trooper Childress and Deputy Pierce located multiple baggies of a crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine, a baggie containing marijuana, 6 suboxone tablets, and 2 xanax pills and digital scales.

Trooper Childress arrested David J. Suiter and lodged him in the Pulaski County Detention Center under the following charges: 1. Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense-(>2 gms Methamphetamine).  2. Possession of Marijuana. 3. Possession of Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree- Drug Unspecified.

Trooper Childress also arrested a passenger in the car, Larry Walden, age 47 of Slate Branch Road, Somerset on a Pulaski County District Court Warrant for Failure to Comply.  He was also lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
