(Adair County, KY August 28, 2018) On Sunday, August 26, 2018 at approximately 5:08pmCT, Trooper Nick Davis responded to Bomar Heights in Columbia in reference to a vehicle that was stopped in the roadway, blocking traffic. When Trooper Davis arrived, he observed a white, 1992 GMC pickup parked in the middle of the road. Trooper Davis made contact with the driver, 38 year old Curtis Keith of Columbia. Mr. Keith stated that he had ran out of gas. The driver of the vehicle consented to a search of the vehicle resulting in glass pipes, methamphetamine concealed in a cigarette pack, small baggies and a straw being found and confiscated as evidence.
Trooper Davis arrested and charged Keith, along with a passenger in the vehicle, 19 year old Breanna Taylor of Columbia, with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Keith received additional charges of operating on a suspended or revoked license, no operators license, failure to produce insurance card and failure of owner to maintain required insurance, 1st offense. Both were lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
