Casey County (October 19, 2018) – On Thursday, October 18th, 2018 at approximately 8:18 PM, KSP Trooper Billy Begley was on routine patrol on U.S. 127 2 miles south of Liberty when he observed a 2004 Hyundai swerving on the roadway. Trooper Begley initiated a traffic stop making contact with the driver, 44 year old Dewey Anderson of Russell Springs, KY. Consent to search the vehicle was given resulting in a small amount of marijuana and a .22 caliber pistol being located by Trooper Zach Scott.
Trooper Begley placed Anderson under arrest, charging him with Careless Driving, DUI 2nd (aggravating circumstance), Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon by a prior Deadly Weapon Felony Offender, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, and Rear License Plate not Illuminated.
Anderson was lodged in the Casey County Detention Center.
