Danville Police have charged a man with assault after finding him hiding in a residence covered in blood.
Officers were called to Halladay Drive on a report of an assault there, but when they got to the scene, they say no one would respond to police. Investigators were able to look through a mail slot on the door, and saw a man later identified as Javier Lopez-Villareal, who had blood all over him. Further, police say Lopez-Villareal could be seen pushing a woman and holding her in a position where she could not open the door. Officers eventually forced entry into the home, and arrested Lopez-Villareal on assault, unlawful imprisonment, and criminal mischief charges. Police say he was highly intoxicated at the time and was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center to be treated for a laceration to his eye. He was lodged in the Boyle County Jail following treatment.
