A Russell County man was arrested on Friday for animal torture, assault & wanton endangerment.
Brently Ray Vaught, 35, of Russell Springs, KY was arrested after he reportedly beat a cat to death with a baseball bat, and then held a loaded rifle to the heads of a woman and 4 year old son.
Vaught was charged with Animal Torture, Wanton Endangerment 1st degree and Assault 4th degree (domestic violence). He was lodged in the Russell County Detention Center by Russell Springs Police Officer Nathan Antle.
