The Adair County Sheriff’s Office investigated an injury collision on KY 61 south on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.

At 4:24pmCT, Adair County 911 dispatched Adair County Deputy Derek Padgett to the intersection of KY 61 south and Wheeler Hill Road to a reported 2-vehicle collision with injuries. Preliminary investigation indicates that a tractor and trailer had stopped on KY 61 to make a left hand turn onto Wheeler Hill Rd. A 2008 Kia, operated by Vonda Fudge of Columbia, KY was stopped in traffic behind the semi. A 2015 Dodge Caravan, operated by 52-year-old Lori Toppings of Columbia, KY was traveling south on KY 61 and was unable stop, striking Fudge’s Kia in the rear.  


Vonda Fudge and a passenger, as well as Lori Toppings and a juvenile passenger, were transported to TJ Health Columbia for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.  

 

Deputy Padgett was assisted at the scene by Adair County Sheriff Josh Brockman, members of the Columbia Police Department and Adair County EMS.
