At 1:55pmCT, the Adair County Sheriffs Office was dispatched to Milltown Church Rd. Adair County 911 advised they had received a call from a female who had located a small child in the roadway. Upon Deputy Hitch’s arrival, he located the female who had pulled to the side of the road and placed the child in her vehicle due to the child being cold and wet from the rain. After an investigation, the location the child may have walked from had been determined and deputy’s proceeded to that location which was approximately .3 tenths of a mile down the road. No one was home at the residence; however, while officer's were there, the brother of the child pulled into the driveway. The brother had left and went to town to run an errand and get gas. He admitted he left the child at home.
Tyler Butler was arrested on charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor and Wanton Endangerment. He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
