On Sunday, Deputy Tim Pierce, Deputy Jayson Grider and Chief Deputy Bryan Shepard conducted a traffic stop on KY 1547.
Larry Ben Scott, 31, of Liberty was arrested for rear license plate not illuminated, driving on a suspended license, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, after Sheriff’s K-9 Ronnie alerted to the odor of narcotics.
On Friday, Sheriff Chad Weddle and Deputy Jayson Grider conducted a traffic stop on Bee Lee Spur on a vehicle that had no visible license plate. Liberty Police Chief Steven Garrett and K9 Mako were also present. Steven Florence, 40, of Campbellsville was cited for operating on suspended or revoked operator license, no registration plates, and no insurance. He was arrested on a Franklin County warrant for parole violation. Florence was also served a Taylor County warrant for failure to appear.
Adam Ray Rakes, 39, of Campbellsville was arrested after Mako alerted on the vehicle. Rakes is charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia - buy/possess, and possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree - drug unspecified).
Also on Friday, Deputy Jayson Grider, along with Sheriff Chad Weddle, arrested Amber Wall, 34, of Calvary Ridge. Wall was arrested at Dollar General in Yosemite, for a bench warrant for failure to appear on charges of driving on suspended or revoked operator license and no insurance. While performing a search for weapons after Wall was placed under arrest, Deputy Grider found a clear plastic baggie containing meth, a container with marijuana, and bottles with various pills.
Wall is charged with:
-possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (meth)
-possession of marijuana
-possession of a controlled substance 1st/3rd degree (drug unspecified)
All suspects were transported to the Casey County Jail.
Justin C. Belt, 30 of Jamestown, arrested by KSP for Reckless Driving, DUI (Aggravated Circumstance), Wanton Endangerment (Police Officer)-1st Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, Fleeing/Evading Police-1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), Menacing, & Resisting Arrest.
