FRANKFORT, Ky. -- The Kentucky Senate has unanimously approved a school safety bill - a top priority for this year's legislative session.
The measure calls for more resource officers and mental health professionals in schools. It also requires active shooter training for school staff.
The bill was crafted in the wake of the Marshall County High School shooting last year that killed two students. The bill is sponsored by Republican Senator Max Wise of Campbellsville
It now goes to the House.
