FLOOD WARNING ISSUED FOR SOME SOUTH CENTRAL KY COUNTIES

The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
  A Dam Floodgate Release in...
North central Clinton County in south central Kentucky...
Southwestern Russell County in south central Kentucky...
Southeastern Monroe County in south central Kentucky...
Central Cumberland County in south central Kentucky...

* Until 230 PM CST Monday.

* At 2:26pm Sunday, Wolf Creek Dam reported increased water
release from the dam since the reservoir is running high due to
recent rainfall over the last few days. This flood gate release
combined with existing high water in the warning area will cause
new flooding along the Cumberland River starting this evening &
continuing through the overnight hours until the release ends.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Burkesville, Leslie, Meshack, Blythe, Ellington, Bow, Creelsboro,
Grider, Vernon and Stalcup near the Cumberland River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles. Should the bridge on highway 912
flood, do not attempt to cross it.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
