A two-car accident sent one driver and two small children to the hospital early Tuesday.
The Casey County Sheriff's Office responded to the call around 8:30amET. The accident occurred 10 miles west of Liberty on KY 1615 (Tennessee Ridge). 80-year-old Shirley DeGeer of Jack Hollow Road, Liberty, KY was driving a 2007 Chrysler Sebring headed east, when she crossed the center line in a curve & struck a 2009 Chevy Impala operated by 30-year-old Kimberly Martin of KY 1547, Liberty, KY who was traveling west. The impact caused severe damage to both cars.
Martin and 2 passengers: Luke Gibson (an infant) and 4-year-old Aaron Gibson both received first aid at the scene by Casey County EMS & were then transported to Casey County Hospital for further treatment. Ms. DeGeer was not injured.
Casey County Sheriff Chad Weddle investigated the accident.
