ADAIR COUNTY MAN AIRLIFTED AFTER ROLLOVER ACCIDENT; CHARGES TO BE FILED

An Adair County man was airlifted after a rollover accident on KY 704.  Charges to be filed as a result of the accident.

On Monday, March 4, 2019 Adair Co. Sheriff Josh Brockman and Deputy Josh Durbin were dispatched to a single vehicle collision with injuries approximately 6 miles south of Columbia on KY 704.  Adair County 911 received a call of a vehicle rollover with the driver being ejected.

Cody Gadberry, 23, of Columbia, KY  was operating a 1998 Chevrolet pickup north on Ky 704 at a high rate of speed and lost control of the truck.  The vehicle began to skid sideways down road before overturning twice and coming to rest on its top.  During the rollover, Garberry (who was not wearing a seatbelt) was ejected.

Gadberry was treated at the scene by Adair EMS and rushed to TJ Health Columbia where he was airlifted by Air Evac to the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, KY for treatment of head injuries. Upon his release from medical care, Gadberry will be facing charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Drugs and Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st degree (Methamphetamine).

The collision and investigation was conducted by Deputy Durbin, and assisted by Sheriff Brockman. Other agencies responding to the scene wer the Columbia-Adair County Fire Department, Adair EMS, and Air Evac.
