A 2-vehicle accident on Friday in Adair County sent four people to the hospital.
The accident occurred at 11:40amCT on Hwy 55 North. 37-year-old John Smith of Columbia, KY was operating a 1995 Ford F-150. He experienced some vehicle problems and moved over to the southbound shoulder of the highway. 23-year-old Natalie Bryant was operating a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic and was also traveling south. She failed to slow down and was unable to negotiate around John Smith and struck his auto in the rear.
Natalie Bryant was taken to TJ Health Columbia by Adair EMS and later transferred to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. John Smith and two passengers, Sarah Smith & Christopher Keith, were transported to TJ Health by Adair EMS where they were treated and released.
Adair County Deputy Sheriff Brandon Hitch investigated the collision. He was assisted by the Columbia Police Department.
