ADAIR COUNTY INDICTMENTS - 03/18/19

 

An Adair County Grand Jury has returned several indictments.
 
 
  • Lois Elaine Mattingly, 40, Columbia, KY - Criminal Abuse, 1st degree
  • Jordan Wade Grant, 21, Columbia, KY - Possession or Viewing of Matter Portraying a Sexual Performance by a Minor; Distribution of Obscene Matter to Minors, 1st offense
  • Patrick L. Stotts, 38, Columbia, KY - Assault, 2nd degree; Wanton Endangerment, 1st degree; Menacing
  • William Junior Huff, 48, Hazard, KY - Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon; Persistent Felony offender, 1st degree
  • James David Burnette, 51, Knifley, KY - Custodial Interference (2 counts); Unlawful Transaction with a Minor, 1st degree; Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (Methamphetamine); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Disregarding a Stop Sign; Failure to or Improper Signal
  • Wyatt T. Long, 31, Columbia, KY - Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (Methamphetamine); Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (Heroin); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Operating a Motor Vehicle while Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs/Etc., 1st offense; Reckless Driving; Rear License Not Illuminated; Failure to Wear Seat Belt
     
 
According to the indictments, the following four individuals established a criminal syndicate in order to steal retail merchandise from Columbia Walmart with the intent to resell the stolen merchandise:
 
  • Joy D. Ballard, 50, Austin, KY 
  • Richard Anthony Ballard, 48, Austin, KY
  • Charles Jason Ballard, 43, Austin, KY 
  • Ernest Wilson, III, 25, Munfordville, KY 


They were each charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking/Disposition ($500 or more but under $10,000) AND Theft of Retail Merchandise for Resale. Charles Jason Ballard was also indicted for being a Persistent Felony Offender.

 
Indictments are legal accusations and do not determine guilt or innocence.
