The Russell Springs City Council held a special called meeting on Monday morning. The only item on the agenda was 2nd reading of ordinance 2019-01, amendments to the city’s alcohol beverage control ordinance, which establishes guidelines regarding Sunday alcohol sales in city limits. The ordinance passed 4 to 2, which means alcohol can be purchased by the drink on Sunday's from 1pm to midnight. Council members Larry Skaggs, David Blakey & Tommy Holt voted in favor of the ABC ordinance; Ricky Barnes & Timmy Hudson voted “NO”; Council member Sherry Daniel abstained from voting, therefore her vote went with the majority.
