Attorney General Andy Beshear announced a 29-count indictment of a man previously living in Casey County on charges related to the alleged sexual assault of minors.
On March 25, a Casey County grand jury returned the 29-count indictment against Jason Alexander Reusser, 44, on first, second and third-degree rape, first and second degree sodomy, incest, criminal abuse, and intimidating a participant in the legal process in the first degree. The charges are Class A, B, C and D felonies.
The case involves the abuse of multiple children. The charges span from August 1, 2007 up to the date of the defendant’s arrest, January 19, 2012.
Beshear’s office assumed prosecution of the case in June 2018.
In 2016, the original indictment in the case was tried by another prosecution office and resulted in a hung jury. The 2019 indictment is a superseding indictment.
Reusser is expected to be arraigned in Casey Circuit Court at 10 a.m. on April 8.
A charge is merely an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
