Liberty, KY (March 26, 2019) - On Saturday, March 23, 2019 at approximately 11:09pmCT Trooper Billy Begley was on routine patrol four miles west of Middleburg on Short Town Rd when he initiated a traffic stop on a 2003 Chevy Impala for a traffic violation. Consent to search the vehicle was given resulting in Trooper Begley locating digital scales and a small plastic container with suspected methamphetamine inside of it. Benjamin McKinney, age 35 of Liberty, KY (who was a passenger in the vehicle) was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine), Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree, 1st offense (drug unspecified), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. McKinney was lodged in the Casey County Detention Center.
