A KSP Trooper is being sued for $1 million by a Marion Co. man who says the Trooper used excessive force following a traffic stop.
Robert Burke Jr., of Lebanon, KY (who is being represented by Lebanon attorney Theodore "Ted" Lavit), is suing Trooper Daniel Forbis of Campbellsville and the Kentucky State Police for an altercation that occurred on December 10, 2017 during a traffic stop. Burke is alleging that Forbis used unjustifiable force, intimidation and excessive force. As a result, Burke claims he’s suffered numerous physical injuries and emotional pain and suffering. Forbis says he was operating within the law and his jurisdiction as a state trooper, and that any injuries Burke received were “the result of his own negligence or misconduct.”
Burke is suing Forbis individually as a trooper/entity of the Kentucky State Police for $1 million. A hearing date has not yet been set.
