STABBING INCIDENT AT PCHS

According to Pulaski County Sheriff Greg Speck, there was an altercation at the Pulaski County High School between two male students involving a knife. Information obtained during the initial response indicated the incident happened during class change in a boy’s restroom at approximately 1:00 PM. School Officials held the student body in place until the situation was secured and then the students returned to their regular schedule. One student was injured and transported to the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital helipad where he was immediately taken by Air Methods and flown to the University of Kentucky Hospital. The extent of the victim’s injury is unknown at the time of this release.

One student was taken into custody by the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office School Resource Officer, Deputy Alex Wesley. This student is a juvenile and was later charged with Assault, 1st Degree. As of this release, he was still being held at the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.

This was an isolated incident between the two students at the school and no other students were involved.

The criminal investigation is ongoing by the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division and Kentucky State Police Detective, Eric Moore.
