Columbia Police Department Officers responded to a report of a possible car accident near the Lindsey Wilson College campus on Wednesday night, May 8, 2019 just after 10:00pmCT. A vehicle matching the initial description was located at Lindsey Wilson College. A person in the vicinity of the auto was briefly spoken to by responding Officers and found to be under the influence.
25-year-old Kemet Rufus of Columbia, KY was placed under arrested for Public Intoxication (Excluding Alcohol), Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Original Container, and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Opiates). He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
Officer John Dial was the arresting officer. He was assisted by Officer Drew Conn.
