***SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT***
Scattered thunderstorms are expected today as a cold front
approaches. The best chance of any strong or severe storms will be
this afternoon, especially in Kentucky. Other than lightning, locally
gusty winds and small hail will be the main threats. Some spots could
experience minor local flooding under the heaviest downpours,
especially in southern Indiana.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Isolated to widely scattered storms also are possible Friday,
Saturday afternoon, and Sunday as a series of upper level
disturbances crosses the region. After a dry start to the work week,
another impulse will bring storm chances back to the forecast
Wednesday. Any of these storms can produce brief gusty winds, as well
as heavy rainfall.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters are encouraged to report any stronger wind gusts, hail, and
minor flooding today.
